Foldscape

A hand-drawn perspective puzzle, made for iPhone Duo.

The phone is an architect’s sketchbook and the fold is its binding. Every puzzle is one small building drawn twice: the plan from above on the lower half, the elevation from the front on the upper. Open or close the phone and the elevation tilts with the hinge, and what you see is what is true.

Trailer, 33 seconds, with sound. The phone is a drawing; the game runs at iPhone Duo’s screen size.

On iPhone Duo, the hinge is the dial

The game on iPhone Duo’s inner screen beside a side view of the phone opened to 138 degrees: the elevation tilts to 45 degrees and two ledges meet.
Half openThe hinge at 138° tilts the elevation to 45°, where two ledges meet in the drawing and Nokta walks across.
The game with the phone opened flat: plan and elevation lie on one page.
Open flatPast 170° the elevation lies down on the plan, and the last chapter plays on one page.

On every other iPhone the same book plays with a dial drawn on the binding.
